Northern Guilford High and Middle Schools

Construction Manager “As Agent” for a two school campus for Guilford County Schools. Northern Guilford High School and Northern Guilford Middle School were constructed on a 110 acre site. HICAPS provided construction management services for the development of the site and design and construction of the two schools. Northern Guilford High School is a 275,000 sft ($41 million) precast high school designed to accommodate 1,600 students. The project included a full size kitchen and cafeteria, state of the art auditorium, main and auxiliary gyms, a football/track stadium, baseball and softball fields, soccer field, tennis courts and a football practice field. Northern Guildford Middle School includes a 142,000 sft school ($21 million) baseball and softball fields, and football field. Campus sustainable design features include a campus well system, campus living machine to handle waste, campus rainwater harvesting system. Both schools used daylighting in all classroom areas, high efficiency HVAC systems, high mass exterior walls and suffocated HVAC and Electrical controls packages.
