Charleston VAMC Green Roof

As the General Contractor for this project, HICAPS constructed a 2,240 square foot Modular Green Roof System. The Green Roof Modular System consisted of a filter fabric system, soil media, fasteners, and an irrigation system. The system was installed on an existing membrane roof surface at the Charleston, SC VAMC facility. The purpose of this project was not only to reduce the rate of water discharge from the roof, but to provide long-term care patients a more aesthetically pleasing view from their patient room windows. The total cost of this project was $64,122.
