HICAPS, Inc. general contracting team designed and completed a three-phase plan, procurement of construction drawings, competitive bidding, and construction for Cheesecakes by Alex in Winston-Salem, NC. This design-build renovation project was completed in 2020 with no deviation from the original budget.

Construction drawings, including structural plans, architectural plans, mechanical layouts, and electrical layouts, were created. Following the completion of the drawings, permit applications were submitted. Competitive bidding was solicited for all subcontractor trades, and firms of the owner’s choice were considered when determining final construction pricing.

When construction began, HICAPS, Inc. provided an experienced project manager and superintendent to execute the work expeditiously and economically, consistent with the owner’s interests.

Greensboro, NC

March 2015 - June 2015

HICAPS was hired as the Design-Build General Contractor to expand the kitchen and retail space at Cheesecakes by Alex in Greensboro, NC. This phased project included selective demolition and re-leveling of the existing floor and a new concrete entrance to expand into the adjacent space. The expansion also included new plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems as well as new kitchen equipment, hood, and furnishings. The renovation took place in a historical downtown building while the owner maintained a complete retail and kitchen operation. The 1,800 sft project was completed on time and within the $265,000 budget.
