NAVFAC P334 Fleet Support Facility Addition
HICAPS built a 31,840 sq/ft single-story warehouse addition to the existing Fleet Support Facility Building and renovated / reconfigured portions of the existing facility for functions required to support the Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) mission associated with the P-8A flight operations.
The warehouse includes space for 14 equipment pods stored on cradles, pallet rack storage for cabin equipment, and space for Handling / Packaging / Staging activities; material handling involved a bridge crane for the pods and forklift operation between the Receiving / POD’s area and the Cabin Equipment storage rack area.
Also included were site clearing and construction of new surface parking with 56 spaces and associated pavement for drives and walks. New construction and renovation activities required a high degree of coordination with the Supported Command/Tenant to ensure minimal disruption of expected continuous operation. Additionally, the facility is located in the vicinity of the P-8A hangar and inside the flight-line perimeter security fence which posed security /access issues for our personnel. However, this design/bid/build project was successfully completed in January of 2018.
