New Mental Health Building for the Department of Veterans Affairs

Fayetteville, N.C.

This project included a 15,400-square-foot two-story building with sixteen exam rooms, four group therapy rooms, and eight state-of-the-art mental health rooms. The facility was built to benefit veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, as well as others. The basis of the design was centered on the construction of a two-story building with the foundation designed to eventually expand the building vertically with added floors. It is a structural steel frame support with masonry exterior veneer and includes new mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and suppression systems. All were designed to meet State, Federal, and Veterans Affairs regulations.
